Greenhouse Garden Center free seminars for April continue today. Most are outside, so come prepared with a jacket, if needed.

Reservations are not required for these seminars presented by David Ruf, owner of Greenhouse Garden Center. Attend a seminar and receive a coupon for 15 percent off of up to five items purchased for that weekend.

• 10 a.m. today - Let's Talk Fruit Trees In Northern Nevada:

Here in Northern Nevada, we have a wide variety of fruit trees that will grow and will give a good fruit yield. Ruf will discuss grafting fruit trees. There will also be a large selection of fruit trees available for purchase.

You can garden with less work, less weeding and less watering.

Workshop covers growing wine grapes in Nevada

Registration is being taken for a one-day workshop on growing grapes in Nevada's harsh climate, scheduled for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 7.

"Extreme Grape Growing - The Grapes of Wrath: Learn to Grow Interspecific Wine Grapes in Northern Nevada's Harsh Climate" will be taught by Rick Halbardier of Tahoe Ridge Winery and president of the Nevada Wine & Grape Growers Association.

Cost is $35. To register, call 800-783-1566. Class is limited to the first 20 people to sign up and pay.
