Jim Ashton has been named by Scorpio Gold as manager of its Mineral Ridge gold mine in Esmeralda County.
Ashton previously worked as chief engineer for Fronteer Gold's Northumberland project in Nye County until that property was acquired by Newmont Mining Corp.
Ashton holds a bachelor's of science degree in mine engineering from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada, Reno.
