Michael Norred has been named vice president of strategic resource planning for Comstock Mining Inc. of Virginia City.
Norred, previously the president of Techbase International, a geologic database firm, has been working with Comstock Mining as an independent consultant since 2007.
He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines.
