Starbucks boosts efficiency

Installation of energy efficient fluorescent and LED lights, along with controls that will shut off conveyor belts during break times, will cut the power bill at the Starbucks roasting plant in the Carson Valley by an estimated $64,000 a year.

The company will receive a $44,509 rebate from NV Energy's Sure Bet program, which provides financial incentives to large commercial energy users that invest in energy efficient lighting and equipment.
