130 YEARS AGO

There are now 10 or 12 cases of typhoid fever in the city, but none are regarded by the physicians as of a dangerous type. The disease is not contagious and it is supposed it is caused by defective drainage. Some of the sewers in Carson are in a very foul condition and almost level. In some cases, the water is stagnant. The sewers should be flushed immediately.

100 YEARS AGO

Does Carson have a water famine? The citizens living along the line of Telegraph Street are organizing a bucket brigade. For the past few weeks there has not been water enough through their pipes to flush the sewers and the ladies are naturally doing a lot of worrying. It is suggested the water company take the matter up with its patrons.

70 YEARS AGO

At the regular meeting of the Women's Relief Corps, Custer Corps No. 15, Mrs. Fannie Blackie was tendered a birthday party. Mrs. Nettie Quill presented the honored guest with a beautiful potted plant.

20 YEARS AGO

Some 25 Nye County residents turned out to protest plans by Las Vegas to import water form three rural counties.

10 YEARS AGO

About 20 protesters demonstrated outside Carson City Hall on Tuesday opposing development of Fuji Park.
