Trial set for probation officer accused of molesting women

A Feb. 21 trial date has been set for a former Carson City probation officer charged with molesting women while on the job.

Aaron Lewis, 35. of Dayton was arraigned today in Carson City District Court on 22 criminal charges.

The charges filed by the attorney general's office include sexual misconduct of a public officer, open and gross lewdness and coercion using physical force.

Lewis was a probation officer with the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing.

During a preliminary hearing last month, the women testified they were afraid Lewis would take them to jail if they did not comply with his demands.

Lewis remains free on his own recognizance.

Senior Judge Deborah Agosti, a former Nevada Supreme Court justice, will preside over the trial.
