John Bolanos has been named vice president of exploration by Golden Phoenix Minerals of Sparks.
He previously has worked for AndeanGold Ltd, Ascendant Exploration S.A., Hampton Court Resources, Grantmining S.A. and the British Geological Survey.
Bolanos earned a master's degree in mining geology from the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. He completed his undergraduate studies in geology from the Central University of Ecuador.
