Sarah Elizabeth Bates and Steffen Tyler Young were married on Aug. 5, 2011, in Pensacola, Fla.
Sarah is the daughter of Jeffrey and Beth Bates of Gardnerville. Sarah's grandparents are Bob and Linda Paddock of the Gardnerville Ranchos. Steffen is son of Craig Young of Vacaville, Calif., and Sara Vasquez of Gardnerville. Steffen's grandparents are Karen Pugh, formerly of Gardnerville, and the late Tommy Young of Red Bluff, Calif.
Steffen graduated Navy boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Station in May and completed his aviation electronics schooling at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in September. His first duty station is NAS Oceana Naval Base in Virginia Beach, Va., where the Young family will reside. Steffen and Sarah are the proud parents of Elena Rae who recently turned 2.
