Dean Schultz has been promoted to chief operating officer by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
Schultz previously worked as senior vice president of planning, engineering and environmental management for the airport authority.
He has been a member of its staff for 14 years and previously held positions in which he helped plan airports at Hong Kong, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Nanjing.
Schultz earned a degree in aviation management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
He succeeds Marilyn Mora, who worked 12 years in the airport's No. 2 job.
