Elderly driver rolls car

An 81-year-old Carson City woman was injured Tuesday evening when she rolled her Toyota Corolla on Roop Street in front of Lone Mountain Cemetery

Deputy Sal Acosta said Dorothy May Saunders was northbound on Roop when she drifted to the right, jumped the curb and struck a concrete utility box at Dan Street around 6 p.m.

Acosta said Saunders complained of injuries and she was taken from the scene by Care Flight. Roop Street was closed between Stewart Street and Winnie Lane.
