Green leafy substance for sale at farmer's market not lettuce

FALLON - The owner of Santino's Farmers Market in Fallon was arrested Friday on multiple counts of selling marijuana to an undercover operative.

Christopher A. Stephenson, 61, was arrested after the North Central Narcotics Task Force conducted several undercover controlled purchases of marijuana.

According to police, Stephenson sold the marijuana to the undercover operative along with other items purchased at the market, and even charged tax for all the items purchased, including the pot.

Stephenson was booked into Churchill County Jail on suspicion of sales of marijuana; maintaining a place for the sale of controlled substances; multiple counts of possession for sales of marijuana and sales of controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school. He is being held in lieu of $90,000 bail.
