Car crash leaves Stateline woman seriously injured

A two-vehicle accident on SR 207 Kingsbury Grade early Wednesday sent a Stateline woman to a regional trauma center with serious injuries, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

A little before 9 a.m. the NHP was dispatched to an injury crash on Kingsbury Grade near Juniper Lane approximately 3/4 mile east of Highway 50 West.

The crash investigation details so far indicate that a black Jeep Cherokee driven by a 19-year-old woman from Stateline was traveling eastbound. The Jeep crossed over the center line for unknown reasons, striking a blue bus driven by Randy Briney, a 53-year-old Carson City resident. The Jeep driver hit the bus in the left front with the left front of her Jeep.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno via Care Flight helicopter with substantial injuries. The driver's name is not being released at this time.

Alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor to the accident. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Witnesses or anyone with additional information are encouraged to call the Department of Public Safety Communications Center at 775-687-0400 or Sgt. Robert Stepien at 775-688-2500.
