Carson City business news: Chocolate bar plans exotic menu

A Carson City man has plans to open a chocolate bar that will serve gourmet truffles paired with wine and beer.

Paul Bonaldi said he's planning on opening Coco Dolce, 1910 College Parkway, Suite 130, in March. It will be next door to Bella Salon Spa and behind Sonic Drive-Thru.

The eatery will offer sandwiches and some breakfast items. As for chocolate, Bonaldi said his shop will offer "extreme" items such as chipotle, blue cheese and gorgonzola truffles among other chocolates.

Longtime deli closed

The Deli Francesco shut its doors for good last month after more than 30 years in business.

The eatery, located on the west side of Carson Mall, was dark last week. Mall manager Kevin Ray said the shop closed just before Christmas.

Ray said he's shown the space to a couple of interested parties, but nothing firm yet.

The deli's previous owners, Sherrye and Rudy Ceragioli, sold it to Jason and Michelle Taylor in 2009. Jason Taylor, 39, pleaded guilty in October to embezzling $233,057 from his former employer. He received five years probation and was ordered to pay back about half of what he took.
