ProNet to showcase members to employers

ProNet, an organization of job-seeking professionals, has scheduled a networking breakfast in Reno July 11 to showcase its members to employers.

The networking forum runs from 7:30-11 a.m. at Atlantis. About 130 people skilled in professional and managerial fields ranging from accounting to operations management to human resources will participate.

This marks the fourth time ProNet has conducted the networking breakfast, and the nonprofit has recorded success stories.

Marilou Parayno landed a position as a financial specialist at Nevadaworks in Reno after she attended a ProNet networking breakfast in February.

"It's really a great event," said Parayno. "You meet lots of people and make lots of connections. In my case, I went to the breakfast on Feb. 16, had my first interview on March 9, and following my second interview, with the CEO on March 11, I was offered the job. If I hadn't attended the breakfast, none of this would have happened."

ProNet, a division of JOIN Inc. is a volunteer, member-run organization. Services to its members are free, and the organization's Web site, www.pronetreno.com, provides free access to employers who are recruiting professional and managerial employees.
