Reno American used a four run inning to top the Carson City 10-11s Little League All-Stars, 5-3, Saturday night at Governors Field in a winner's bracket game.

Carson took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning when Brandon Iwamura drove in two runs with a single.

Reno scored one in the bottom half of the inning. Then scored four in the fifth.

Niko Salm went 2-for-3 for Carson.

Brandon Gagnon pitched 5.2 innings with four strikeouts for Carson.

Carson plays at 7:30 p.m. today against South Tahoe.

The tournament takes Monday off before resuming on Tuesday.

CARSON STAYS ALIVE

Carson City stayed alive in the tournament with a 15-5 win over Sparks National in a consolation bracket game.

The game was called after four innings. Carson will play today at 10:30 a.m.

Sparks National scored all five of its runs in the third inning, using two singles and four walks.

Carson scored three in the second, four in the third and seven in the fourth.

In the second, Kahle Good and Vernon Painter hit singles and Carson also had four walks in the inning.

In the third, Carson received four more walks while Ian Pettersen, Painter and Diego Lopez hit singles.

In the fifth, Teigen Key, Garret Clampitt, Colby Zemp and Cole Salacies all singled. Chase Campagni doubled.

Key and Painter had two hits each.
