Fish notes: Jack Furlong went over to Washoe Lake to fish, and wandered up to Marlette Lake instead. He had no permit from the Company and will be out again as soon as he picks the No. 6 bird shot out of his legs.

Doctor shortage in Nevada: There are only 1.5 physicians for every 1,000 Nevadans. The situation is even bleaker in rural counties where chronic doctor shortages have been the rule for many years.
