Memorial for tree trimmer

A celebration of life is set for Saturday for Coconut Dan Horrigan.

Daniel J. Horrigan, 58, of Carson City died July 11 while trimming trees in Carson City. A celebration of life will be 1-4 p.m. Thursday, at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 28, 1952, in Hotsprings, Ark., to James and Imogene Horrigan. He is survived by his sons Ronnie Horrigan and Adam Hughes; brother Michael Horrigan; sisters Jan Horrigan and Maryann Horrigan; and one grandchild.

Saturday a celebration of life, with donations going to Horrigan's youth outreach program Breakthrough Crime Prevention, will be held at Freedom Church, 3579 Highway 50 East, Suite 209 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
