Obituary: Della Jean Bohner

DELLA JEAN BOHNER, 84, passed away June 25, 2011, at Mason Valley Residence in Yerington. She and her twin brother Delbert D. Bigley were born Aug. 29, 1926, to Catherine Rose and Thomas Purl Bigley in Adams, Neb. She grew up in Adams and graduated from Adams High School in 1944. She was married to Leo A. Bohner on Aug. 2, 1950, at the age of 23. They made their home in Scotts Bluff and Lincoln, Neb. Later in Topeka, Ellenwood and Wichita, Kan., Elko and Carson City, Nev.

The last four years of her life she spent in Yerington. She enjoyed being a mother and a cheerleader for her grandchildren at all of their milestones. She enjoyed gardening and bowled on a league until she was 80 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in July 2009, her parents, a sister Vergie and two brothers, Lyle and Delbert. She is survived by her sons Dennis M. Bohner of Carson City, Steven L. Bohner of Yerington; five grandchildren, Pamela Svrdlin and Jessica Bohner both of San Jose, Calif., Corey Bohner, of Elk Ridge, Utah, Casey Bohner of Bay City, Mich., and Mackenzie Bohner of Yerington.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Lone Mountain Cemetery, in Carson City.
