15 Nevada post offices studied for closure

(AP) - Fifteen post offices in Nevada are under consideration for closure by the U.S. Postal Service.

The list includes the Sun Valley post office near Reno and the Pony Express Station in Fallon. The others are in mostly remote rural areas across northern Nevada.

The Postal Service lost $8 billion last year, and the agency has identified about 3,700 local offices around the country that it will review for possible closure.

Officials say some could be replaced by outlets offering mail services in local stores, libraries or government offices. Final decisions could take months.
