STATELINE (AP) - Forest Service officials at Lake Tahoe are advising visitors not to be alarmed if they see smoke on the northwest and southeast ends of the lake this week.
Fuel management crews plan prescribed fire operations on the south end through Friday near Kingsbury Grade. Burns also are planned Wednesday and Thursday on the northwest shore near Carnelian Bay.
The projects are designed to clear overgrown underbrush to reduce wildfire threats around communities.
