Beauty, Bling & Bubbles set for June 18

Soroptimist International of the Comstock hosts Beauty, Bling & Bubbles, 4-8 p.m. June 18 at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

Proceeds from the event will go to improving the lives of local women and children, through a variety of programs and scholarships sponsored by the club.

"We did a similar event last November and everyone had such a great time, we decided to do one where we can actually have part of the venue outdoors," said Dorothy Wingard, club president. "It's an opportunity for women to get together and socialize, shop and enjoy great food."

The ticket price includes gourmet appetizers, one glass of wine and a chance to win a door prize, donated by one of the more than 20 vendors. A no host bar and additional raffle tickets will be available.

"Since we're able to expand to the outdoors, we've been able to bring in more vendors, all of whom are local women business owners," Wingard said. "(Soroptimist's) mission is to support women, and this way we are able to do so in a way that does support them while making it easy to shop for quality products while helping the community.

"It's a positive for everyone."

Vendors include Pampered Chef, All Things Gourmet, Scentsy Candles, Avon, Tupperware, BeautiControl, Miche Bags, Silpada Jewelry, Lavenderology, ID Divas Jewelry, Rocking A Designs Jewelry, Comfort Consultant, Wine Shop @ Home, Dayton ValleyCountry Club, Beautiful Hands by Dawn, Arbonne and more.

Each vendor is donating a raffle item.

"Our last event was so successul and everyone who came requested we do it again," Wingard said. "Where else can you go in Dayton to enjoy something like this?

"The ladies wanted the winter event to go longer, in part because we get so busy and it was a time to reconnect, it's close to home and it was fun."

Tickets cost $20 in advance by June 15, available at Dayton Valley Floral & Nursery, 3 Ricci Road and Dayton Valley Road, 775-246-5296; by calling Wingard at 246-2499, Sharon Atkinson at 246-1630 or from any Soroptimist member. Tickets will cost $25 at the door.

Dayton Valley Golf Club is located off Dayton Valley Road at 101 Palmer Drive.
