John Tuthill

John Tuthill has been named vice president of academic affairs and student services at Truckee Meadows Community College.

Tuthill has served as chief academic officer of three community colleges: the College of the Marshall Islands in the tropical Pacific; Ilisagvik College, in Arctic Alaska; and Northwest Arkansas Community College.

Before moving into administration, Tuthill taught history for 17 years,

He earned a bachelor's degree in Chinese studies from the University of Michigan, a master's in history from Columbia University, and a doctorate in history from the University of California, Berkeley.
