Caregivers tackle fears

Researchers suggest that the two strongest human motivators are love and fear. We all have fears that we carry around everyday. If you are one of the millions of Americans who is a caregivers then you probably have a few additional fears.

What is the one fear that you wake with everyday? That question will be the topic of discussion at the next caregivers support group meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church Rectory on North Division Street in Carson City.

This small on-going caregiver support group meets the first and third Thursday of each month to give caregivers some help in processing their complex lives. Approximately 40 percent of care givers predecease the person they are assisting. Many caregivers say that they wake up and live with the fear that something will happen to them and that their loved-one who they are caring for will be left alone.

Fear diminishes our power. So the group is going to face those fears and continue to learn how to live a life of joy and gratitude while care giving.

All are welcome to attend. Call Dr. Deb Cash at 887-8846 for more information.
