Raul R. Ortiz, 67, died June 11, 2011, in Mound House. He was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Jose and Maria Ortiz. He is survived by his wife, Adeline; sons Wyatt Ortiz, Joseph Ortiz, Zachary Ortiz and David Buck-Steadman; daughters Katherine Abeyta, Diana Atkins (John), Brenda Edwards (Matt), Jennifer Ortiz (Paul) and Moriah Garcia; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wells of Worship Church, 22 Cash Dr., Mound House. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of final arrangements.
