Obituary: Florence E. Judd

Florence E. Judd, a Gardnerville resident for the past 58 years, passed away June 17, 2011, in her home. She was born May 11, 1932, in Norwich, Conn., to Peter Rokowski and Edna Judge. She attended schools in Connecticut including the Norwich Free Academy.

Before moving to Gardnerville to become Donald Judd's wife, she lived in Norwich, Conn. She belonged to the V.F.W. Auxiliary and was a Sunday school teacher many years ago. She was also a teacher's aide for 15 years at the Gardnerville Elementary School and then retired in 1989 to travel.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Donald, both of her parents and brothers Ray, Harold and Jim. Among her survivors are her five sons, Donald Jr., David, Daniel, Dwight and Dana, all local; grandchildren Bryan, Anthony, Danny, Donna, Shawn, Crystal, Michael and Brandon; great-grandson Anthony Dylan Jr.; and her sister Shirley Pado of Florida, along with several other extended family members.

A viewing for Mrs. Judd will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Calvary Chapel, 1004 Dresslerville Rd. in Gardnerville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. with a burial to follow at the Garden Cemetery.
