Former Carson High School Naval Junior ROTC instructor Skip Cannady and his wife Eileen, attended the recent graduation of three Carson High School alumni from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

"I think that their accomplishment is very impressive and reflects well on the education that they received in the Carson City School District," Cannady said.

Ensign Sarah Stadler is assigned to the USS Howard, an Arleigh Burke class guided-missile destroyer out of San Diego, Calif.

Ensign Andrew Stephenson graduated sixth in a class of more than 1,000. Stephenson also was a Trident Scholar, a selective program of independent research during his senior year. He was the first information technology major selected for this program.

Stephenson will go on to attend Navy Nuclear Power training to become a submarine officer.

Ensign Chad Shroy is assigned to naval intelligence and will attend five months of training at the naval station in Dam Neck, Va.

The couple also visited with Jaime Greene, another CHS graduate, who is a member of the class of 2012 at the academy.

"I'm very proud of all of them," Cannady said.
