Emil (Rocky) Toudouze

Rocky Toudouze died May 26, 2011, in Carson City. He was born July 28, 1923, in San Antonio, Texas, son of John and Ethel Toudouze. He married Betty Toudouze in 1989 in San Fernando Valley. She survives in Minden and his only remaining sister in Los Angeles. He has many nieces in Texas. He has three stepchildren, Michael, Connie and Dennis Farley and nine step-grandchildren. He was on the town council in Paradise, Calif., where he lived for 35 years. They moved to Carson Valley in 1993 where he loved bowling, the Elks organization and the Foot Printers. He also loved dancing. Emil was known throughout childhood as The Rock and in his later years he told spellbinding stories about his time in the service to the friends he had met over the years. He impacted many lives. He loved passing out samples in the stores and he made many friends. He had wonderful caregivers at the Lodge in Carson City and he loved all of them. At his request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. July 10 at the Elks Lodge in Gardnerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Research or the Elks Lodge #2670, 1276 Pitt Rd, Gardnerville Ranchos. Call the lodge for directions at 775-265-4523 on Tuesday or Thursday.
