Board to Manage Wildlife to meet

The Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife is set to meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the city's Business Resource Innovation Center, 108 E. Proctor St. For more information or a meeting agenda, call City Hall at 887-2100.

Also this week, the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet to discuss information regarding a Carson City application for designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community from the League of American Bicyclists.

The meeting is set for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Other items on the agenda are:

• Action to approve an agreement with the Nevada Department of Transportation to provide CAMPO non-federal state funds to use as a local match for capital acquisition for use in public transportation services.

• Information regarding a proposed amendment to the CAMPO fiscal year 2011-14 Transportation Improvement Program.

• Information regarding the status of work tasks in the current Unified Planning Work Program.

• Action for election of CAMPO officers.

Carson City's Regional Transportation Commission meets immediately following the CAMPO meeting Wednesday in the Sierra Room.

The commission is scheduled to adopt a resolution for a cooperative agreement between the RTC and NDOT for the North Roop Street enhancement project.

According to a staff summary, Carson City received funding through the Transportation Enhancements Program to build a pedestrian path along the east side of Roop Street from Winnie Lane to Northridge Drive, a sidewalk along the east side of Roop Street from Northridge Drive to Hot Springs Road, a sidewalk along the north side of Northridge Drive from Roop Street continuing east about 325 feet, and bike lanes on both sides of Roop Street from Winnie Lane to Hot Springs Road.

The Carson City Historic Resources Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room. Items on the agenda include:

• Consideration of a request to re-roof a single family dwelling unit and the replacement of existing shed dormers with proposed gabled dormers at 312 Mountain St.

• Consideration of a proposed resolution for the board of supervisors declaring May as Archaeological Awareness and Historic Preservation Month.

• Possible action to consider selection of the Historic Preservation Awards of 2011.

• Discussion on an update of the Historic Preservation Fund grant for 2010.
