Searchers on Wednesday morning discovered the body of a Mason Valley woman less than two hours after her family reported her missing.
According to Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Bryan Veil, the family of Tammy Myers, also known as Tammy Pruitt, 50, reported they last saw her at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday morning about 10 a.m. the family filed a report with the Lyon County Sheriff's Department.
Veil said that Lyon County Search and Rescue volunteers along with detectives searched for Myers along Glasner Lane. At about
11:44 a.m., detectives located Myers body near the bridge on Mason Road not far from her home.
The cause of death is under investigation.
Veil said an autopsy will be conducted by the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office. Myers' next of kin has been notified and no further information at this time will be released, as the case still is being investigated.
