Help a family who lost their home in fire

An account has been set up at any area Greater Nevada Credit Union for Lyle and Lisa Meggerson, who tragically lost their home and all their belongings to a fire in Dayton last week.

All donations are welcome and appreciated to help the couple move forward. The account is in their name under Account # 912792.

Time again to Drive One 4UR School

Dick Campagni's Capital Ford is again sponsoring a "Drive One 4UR School" event at Carson High School. The event is from

9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 19.

The community is invited to support the high school. For every test drive of a vehicle, Capital Ford will donate $20 to the Carson High Safe Grad Program.

Ninety-Nines offer Discovery Days

Girl Scouts and their families are invited to attend Airport Discovery Days at the Minden-Tahoe Airport from 10 a.m. to noon March 19.

The event is presented and sponsored by the Reno Area Chapter Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots, through grant from the Reno Air Racing Foundation.

The girls and their families will be able to see what goes on inside the hangars, learn about the Civil Air Patrol and their program for student cadets, sit inside an airplane, and learn how they fly. They also will be given information about many careers in the field of aviation.

The event is free to Girl Scouts and their families, but registration is required.
