Spring art classes now forming at the Brewery

Get creative this spring at the Brewery Arts Center. The BAC offers classes in drawing, painting, pottery and more, for adults and children.

Several painting and pottery classes begin this week, with additional classes filling the halls in the next few weeks.

Act fast to catch the beginning of these classes:

• Beginning Drawing (adults,) 9-11 a.m. Mondays, March 14-May 2. Instructor: Deana Hoover

• Intermediate/Advanced Drawing (adults), noon-2 p.m. Mondays, March 14-May 2. Instructor: Deana Hoover

• Beginning Oil Painting (adults), 9 a.m.-noon Thursdays, March 17-May 5. Instructor: Deana Hoover

• Intermediate/Advanced Oil Painting (adults), 1-4 p.m. Thursdays, March 17-May 5. Instructor: Deana Hoover

• Oil Painting (adults), 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays. Instructor: Tina Tyrrell

• Pastel Painting (adults), 9 a.m.-noon Fridays. Instructor: Lee Netzel

• Painting: Acrylic, Oil and Watercolor (adults), 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. Mondays. Instructor: Mark Tompkins.

Several pottery classes are also scheduled. New this spring: Beginning Pottery Express class, which starts March 23. Students in this Wednesday evening class will take the fast track to creating unique pieces. In just four weeks students learn the basics and be ready to take more advanced classes and projects.

Pottery classes include:

• Beginning Pottery Express (ages 16-adult), Class 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays, March 15-April 5. Instructor: Kym Maehl

• Beginning Adult Pottery, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays March 23-June. Instructor: Kym Maehl

• Kid's Pottery (ages 9-14), 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesdays April 20-May 25. Instructor: Kym Maehl

• Me & Mommy (or Daddy) Mother's Day Teapot Class (children ages 7-15), 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 1. Instructor: Kym Maehl

Returning this spring are the popular jewelry-making classes. In the one night sessions students will learn basic bead stringing, wire wrapping and advanced wire wrapping skills. Each of the following classes is one evening.

Jewelry classes include:

• Jewelry: Basic Bead Stringing, 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 23. Instructor Kym Maehl

• Jewelry: Wire Wrapping I, 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 30. Instructor Kym Maehl

• Jewelry: Wire Wrapping II, 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 6. Instructor Kym Maehl
