Rep. Dean Heller says POTUS is after him

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Rep. and U.S. Senate hopeful Dean Heller says national Democrats are sending President Barack Obama to Reno to attack his budding campaign.

Heller urged supporters to fight back in a fundraising email sent out late Monday.

Heller says Obama is coming to Reno to help rally liberal groups against him.

Heller announced last week he will seek Sen. John Ensign's seat. Ensign is retiring from politics in 2012 because of an extramarital affair with a former campaign staffer.

Obama is scheduled to make his first trip as president to Reno sometime in April. Obama is expected to discuss his plans to strengthen the economy. White House officials have released few details about the event.

Nevada has been a key battleground state in recent presidential elections.
