Sporting Clay Shoot offered Saturday

The Builder's Association of Western Nevada is offering its annual sporting clay shoot Saturday at the Carson City Gun Club.

Registration is at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Lunch and awards will follow the shoot.

The event is limited to the first 65 shooters, and cost per shooter is $50. Cost includes lunch and 100 rounds of ammo.

Dayton High 'S Club' organizes help with prom expenses

The "S" Club of Dayton High School is sponsoring a project to help make this year's prom a dream come true.

Some students will need help for the May 7 prom. To make the dream a reality for everyone, the club is asking for donations of gently used dresses, tux rental fees, and gift certificates for dinners, hair or nail services. The goal is to help 25 students.

Donations can be dropped off at Dayton High School or Community Treasures Thrift Shop at 80 Shady Lane in Dayton. Checks can be made out to DHS for "S" Club.

Seats for disabled children offered

Ron Wood Family Resource Center is offering car seats for children with special needs. This new program targets children who must travel lying down, and have permanent or temporary disabilities.

The center has nationally certified car seat technicians, and holds car seat remotes every other Friday. Parents are encouraged to call Holly Brown at 884-2269 to schedule an appointment.

ESL award ceremony set for April 2

There will be 104 students and their tutors attending a ceremony from noon to 4 p.m. April 2 in the Nevada Room at the Governor's Mansion, 606 Mountain St.

The ceremony will honor the tutors for their hard work and the students for their accomplishments.

The afternoon includes a luncheon and plenty of entertainment.
