Obituary: Merritt "Ike" Yochum

Merritt "Ike" Yochum, 84, passed away March 24, 2011, in Reno. He was born July 16, 1926, in Longville, Minn.

Merritt dedicated his life in support of the freedoms guaranteed us by the Constitution of our great country, and fought diligently against big government intrusion into our daily lives. He was a life-long member of the John Birch Society and the Independent American Party.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose in 2008. Among his survivors are his sons David and Steve Yochum, daughter Linda Michaelson, brothers Tom and Howard Yochum, sister Lois Hanson, six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
