Clark & Sullivan Construction of Sparks started work last week on the Wilbur D. May Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and children's inpatient floor at Renown Children's Hospital in Reno.
The facility, funded almost entirely with about $5 million in donations to the hospital, will include 16 new inpatient beds, therapeutic play rooms, the Ronald McDonald House Family Room and wheelchair-accessible rooms.
HMC Architects designed the project.
