Smallpox: Is on the Comstock. Patients who imagine they are afflicted are rushing to the County Hospital. If anyone thinks he has the smallpox, he must proceed to the south of the bank building, midway between the pesthouse and hospital, where he will find a fish horn, by blowing which he will receive prompt attention. The Appeal would suggest the expedience of vaccination on the part of all. It is a moral crime to treat it with indifference.

120 YEARS AGO

All sorts: Oliver Roberts who is putting in the furniture of the Government Building, can be found almost any time looking for four-leaf clovers. When he finds a thousand of them, he expects to see the building occupied. He has found two already.

Seen, Thought or Heard by E.T.C.: There was a surprising dearth of playing children in the vicinity of West Telegraph and Phillips as bees swarmed on a branch of a lilac bush near the front entrance to the William Dumble home. The bees were promptly removed.
