Women's health focus of new center

The Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare opened its Women's Health Institute on Thursday, a free education and information hub located on the Carson Tahoe Medical Campus.

The institute, 1470 Medical Parkway, Suite 250, was developed to meet the varied health needs of women of all ages.

"Focusing on women and their unique care path is our mission," said Cheri Glockner, Carson Tahoe Director of Development. "Being healthy and staying healthy takes work and many times women will forego their own health to look after their family. Our mission is to help women find useful, timely information and assist them in navigating available programs and services while even providing physician referrals when appropriate. In order to help save time our service is available in-person, by phone or on-line, in fact, the virtual component is especially helpful."

The Women's Health Institute is a 2,500 square-foot dedicated space, overlooking the Eagle Valley. The space includes comfortable classroom areas for physician-led classes and seminars, private consultation rooms and roomy computer workstations.

With a full-time Women's Health Navigator, a well-stocked lending library, health and wellness analysis tools and comprehensive online assessments, the Women's Health Institute is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or online at www.carsontahoewomen.com.
