Tigersharks hosting Intermountain Classic

The 2011 Intermountain Classic Memorial Day Swim Meet continues today at the Carson Aquatic Center. The meet, hosted by the Carson Tigersharks, features more than 400 swimmers from Nevada, California and Oregon.

Highlights from the Tigersharks during Friday's events were on the girls' side, Blanca Sosa (11-12 age group) dropped 42 seconds in the 200 individual medley. Stella Carroll, in the same event, dropped three seconds.

Also is the 11-12 age bracket, Kelsey Bradley dropped 31 seconds on her 400 free.

Charlee Bradley (13-14 age group) swam her best time in the 400 IM placing 5:11.64.

Eli Everest (13-14 age group) dropped 35 seconds on her 1,500 freestyle time. Also in the 13-14 age group, Vanessa Rauch, Ashley Meyer and Corinne Defilippi all swam the 1,500 for the first time. Rauch took first in her heat.

In the girls' 15-18 age group, Danielle Stanka cut 33 seconds off her 1,500 time.

On the boys' side, Dagen Kippling and Brett Kolb - both swimming in the 11-12 age group - turned in solid performances in the 200 IM. It was Kippling's first time swimming the event, while Kolb cut 11 seconds off his best time.
