Converted: At a spiritual seance in this city, where nine ladies were present, eight of them fainted at the sight of materialized spirit. The ninth essayed to grasp the apparition, and it slipped through her fingers she also fainted. All present are now said to be confirmed believers.

Peculiar harangue: Orlando E. Jones will deliver one of his peculiar harangues in the Odd Fellows' Hall. His text for the evening will be "The Delights of Drunkenness." Seats will be free and all are cordially invited, particularly ladies, saloon men and liquor dealers.

Anthrax was detected inside the Pentagon and removed. Government agencies moved to test buildings around the country for the presence of anthrax spores.
