Temperance convention: Susan B. Anthony has been kissed, not by a man, however. A woman at the convention so moved by the presence of the flag and representing all that is angelic in woman turned to kiss Miss Anthony and gave her a resounding smack.

120 YEARS AGO

The Washoe House: A new sportsman's resort at the North end of Washoe Lake is accommodating many. The house is 16 x 18 feet with a kitchen to be built. There are ten bunks, with spring and wool mattresses, and an additional stable that will hold twelve head of horses.

70 YEARS AGO

Armistice Day Program (Veteran's Day): The program will be held in the Civic Auditorium with Charles Priest, chairman of the Capitol Post No. 4 of the American Legion. The program will be (in part) - Advancement of the colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, March "U.S. Marines" Carson City Band, directed by A. "Dutch" Berning.

50 YEARS AGO

Carson High School honor roll students announced. Students with all "A's" - Linda Doty, Ann Kvam, Karen Maistrom, Sonnia Peterson, Peter Wilson, Bonnie List, John Whitehead.

30 YEARS AGO

A tuberculosis scare closed Fritsch Elementary School and 413 students and staff members were tested. This after a fifth-grader at the school tested positive.
