Clerkship: A bright youth, undergoing examination for admission to one of the departments was asked, "What is the distance from the earth to the sun?" Not having the exact answer he said, "I am unable to state accurately, but don't believe the sun is near enough to interfere with the proper performance of my duties." He got the job.
