Author to speak at Aglow meeting on Monday

Alice Elizabeth Mendez, founder and past of "Opening High Gift" mentoring ministry for women will speak at Monday's Carson City Aglow meeting.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the recreation room of the Southgate Apartments, on California Street.

Mendez, is a Christian author and speaker who two years ago wrote "Opening High Gift: God's Love for YOU!."

The Sparks resident was verbally abused as a child. She never knew her biological father, and her mother didn't want her after she was born. Mendez made a promise to go that if he would take her out of her miserable life, she would share his gift with others.

Fulfilling that promise, Mendez has mentored thousands of women in the last 30 years.
