Obituary: Leslie Douglas Dimmick

Les passed away on October 1, 2011 in Carson City, Nevada. He was born in Santa Rosa, California on August 13, 1916 to Orville and Margaret Dimmick. He grew up in various parts of northern California. He enlisted in the Navy and served at Pearl Harbor in addition to various other parts of the world. He was friendly and outgoing an continued lifelong friendships with many people, including friends in South Africa and the Pitcarin Islands. Les was a partner in the grocery store business with his brother, Bob, in Brookings, Oregon. Following the sale of their business, Les moved to Colton, then or Marquam, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his two wives, Dorothy and Pauline Webb-Dimmick. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout Oregon, California and Nevada. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm October 15, 2011 at the Marquam United Methodist Church, Marquam, Oregon. Burial will be at William J. Ward Cemetery in Brookings, Oregon.
