NVEnergy hosts event for minority, female and disabled veteran business owners

NVEnergy will host a free event to teach small, minority-, woman- and disabled veteran-owned businesses about the opportunities to provide goods and services to the utility.

The event will allow participants to meet the NVEnergy employees responsible for purchasing decisions and network with business development agencies and other small-business owners.

The event, Camp Supplier Diversity, will also feature a presentation by Ondra Berry, co-founder of Guardian Quest, a local company that provides leadership and organizational development training and diversity education.

The event is being held in conjunction with the Northern Nevada Chamber of Commerce and the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.

It will be held Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, 2680 East Ninth St. in Reno. For more information, email supplierdiversity@nvenergy.com. To register, go to www.nvenergy.com/campsupplier. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday.
