SBA awards grant to spur exports from Nevada

Nevada officials are hammering out details of a program to encourage exports by small businesses in the state.

The Nevada Office of Economic Development said last week it won a $239,318 grant from the Small Business Administration to boost exports by small companies.

Exports by Nevada companies currently total about $6 billion a year. More than 400 companies in the state sell products to 175 nations.

Steve Hill, interim director of the Office of Economic Development, said state staffers haven't yet completed details of the educational and financial assistance program.
