The first annual Legends of the West Bike & Car Fest was held in June. The Downtown Business Association (D.B.A.) was the force behind this new and exciting event, which closed our main street for the first time in many years for something other than Nevada Day parades. Visit www.EventsNevada.com/legends.html for all the great pics and videos from Legends.

D.B.A. President Lenny Chappell said, "We are so pleased that this event is being enjoyed by everyone here. We have already heard that we should do this again next year."

As an integral part of Legends, food was collected for the F.I.S.H. Food Bank and a contribution made to the local chapters #1 and #7 of the Disabled American Veterans.

Cmdr. Frank Greenwood, past state commander and current leader of chapter #1, and Stewart MacRichie, chapter #7 treasurer and state-wide D.A.V. Member of the Year, received a check from Chappell on behalf of the event and the D.B.A.

Participants not in the picture included: Steve Albertsen, Carson City undersheriff; Dana Lee Fruend, author of "Irish Flame's Biker & Travel Guide to Nevada" and motorcycle enthusiast; Robin Gouty, nomad member of Leather & Lace (Women's) Motorcycle Club; Ernie Magee, Platinum DJs; AJ Matule, East to West Embroidery Design; Carol Park, Carson City Elks Lodge; Renee Plain, Nevada Appeal; Tony Stanfield, Union Rodders Car Club.
