Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Path to top Parks Commission agenda

The Nevada Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Project will be presented when the Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ann Bollinger, resource specialist for the city's Open Space Division, will update commissioners on the completion of the project's feasibility study and the finding of no significant impact in the environmental assessment for the South Demonstration Project.

Possible action could be taken to recommend that the Board of Supervisors approve the funding allocations of $1.9 million to Douglas County and $1.6 million to Washoe County from state Question 1 funds for the bikeway.

A discussion only will be held concerning the North Demonstration Project of the bikeway.

In other matters, commissioners are scheduled to discuss or take action on:

• Amendments to the Unified Pathways Master Plan map based on the Carson City Freeway Corridor preferred alignment.

• The League of American Bicyclists "Bicycle Friendly Community"designation.

• A presentation by Commissioner Sean Lehmann on a video he produced as part of the application toward a Runner Friendly Community designation.

• A joint-use agreement and proposed budget between Carson City and the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada governing the Multipurpose Athletic Complex and other items relating to the complex.

The commission meets in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. For more information, call 887-2262.
