Nutrition retail chain enters market

Complete Nutrition, a franchised nutritional supplement retailer, has opened its first store in Reno, and at least one more store will follow.

The company opened last week in approximately 1,200 square feet at 6637 S. Virginia St. in the South Virginia Commons shopping center.

Aaron Hyde, a Des Moines-area commercial real estate broker who owns the Complete Nutrition franchise for the Reno market, said his contract calls for at least one more store in the market. A location and timing for that store have yet to be determined, Hyde said.

The company sells weight-loss, sports-nutrition and general health products and positions itself as a personalized provider of nutritional information.

Each store will employ about three or four full-time workers and an equal number of part-time workers, Hyde said. Most will have backgrounds in sports or fitness training.

Complete Nutrition, which is headquartered in Omaha, has about 100 locations nationwide and 160 are scheduled to be open by the end of this year.

A franchise blog, The Franchise Hound, has estimated that the average franchise location of Complete Nutrition posted sales of about $900,000 last year.
