Ora Leigh Seiler, 85, a Gardnerville Ranchos resident for the past 10 years died September 1, 2011, in Carson City. She was born May 30, 1926, in Cambria Illinois to Myrtle Ernestine Bush and J V Kent. Before moving to Nevada, Leigh lived in Bountiful Utah.
After a whirlwind romance, Leigh married a handsome Marine pilot named Ralph on October 5, 1946 in El Monte California. Leigh enjoyed working with children and taught preschool in Bountiful in for many years. Leigh's passions were bird watching and bicycling, but her greatest love was her garden.
Leigh was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2004 and her son Dennis in 1986.
Among Leigh's survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Elisa Seiler, of Carson City, daughter Laura Jane Seiler of Lakewood Colorado, and sisters Norma, Gardnerville Ranchos, Dale, Glendora California, and Madge, Kingman Arizona, and brother Karl, Clovis, CA, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Burial will be with her husband of 58 years in the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:00am.
