Obituary: John Thomas Justus

John Thomas Justus (also known as 3 Fingered Jack) passed away on July 10, 2011 in Anderson, CA at age 96. He was predeceased by his loving wife Faye and daughters; Frances and Faye. He is survived by his children; Peggy (Chuck), Jean (Troy), Jack (Amy), Arlene (Jerry), Naomi (Mike), Sharon, Larry (Lorrie), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He served in the Marines in WWII receiving the Purple Heart, worked on the rodeo circuit in the 1930's, rode the Highway 50 Wagon Train for many years, and was a lifetime member of the Kit Carson Mountain Men. He was a friend of John Wayne since the 30's having worked with him on numerous western movies during that era, and was with him during his last movie 'The Shootist'. He lived in Nevada many years and helped his friend, Charlie Brandenberg with the Thunder Bowl racetrack. A memorial service will be held on September 24, 2011 at 6:30PM at the Thunder Bowl Racetrack, 16 Julius Lane, Mound House, NV.
